Collection: Gardeners World
Using a photo of Morning Glory - taken in my garden - and the Adobe Kuler app.
Using: C38FFF - a pinky Lilac colour; 431173 - a deep Royal Purple; EEFFCE - the palest Mint Green; 6167F9 - Cornflower blue and 4535DA - Cobalt blue.
I decided to go with the basic pentagonal form of the flower, using geometric pattern - instead of realistic images - pentagons and stars, five pointed of course!

Thank you Julie and Jan - I love the stars too - although most people seem to notice the birds first!

Gorgeous, gorgeous colors, and your geometric abstraction of the original morning glory is lush and full of intriguing forms (I particularly like the soft-sided star just above the birds' beaks)!
Lovely pattern and colours! I love the star shape created in the middle of the five flowers!
Such lovely comments, thank you so much - Celia, Amy, Motyka, Isabella, Rhonda and Victoria. <P>I believe in balance in design... the Ying and the Yang of it all, and as for the birds: they were a serendipitous discovery - they just appeared - like magic!
Lovely inspiration photo, and palette. The design reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
Night birds swooping out of the garden shadows to be caught in beams of moonlight make a magical design, Moira!
The literal yet geometric way that you have interpreted your inspirational photograph has resulted in a very pleasing design. Lovely work.
What a beautiful design! I love the colors, and the balance in your positive and negative spaces.
Moira, you have been hard at work girlfriend, and creating some BEAUTIFUL stuff!!!! Your muse is alive and well!!!! :o) These colors are delicious!!!!
love the flower pattern and the "birds" it creates!
Wow! Thank you all - Kim, Lisa, Tina, Tara, Ceri and Paula - for such beautiful comments!
Oh very vibrant, I imagine migrating birds, jewelled skies, gorgeous colours!
Wow, so intricate. I could look at this for hours. Lovely colours from that photograph!
Beautiful design! The colors are so vibrant! What delightful inspiration you have there in your garden! :)
Wonderful geometric pattern and great colors!
PS: for all those eagle eyes Spoonflower designers... yes it is the same photo as used for the photographic design 'Morning Glory - Squared'!
The photo of Morning Glory taken in my garden... loaded into the Kuler app... translated into a custom palette... loaded up to coreldraw and used for Night Garden!
This would make a pretty fabric for a long, floaty skirt!
Love it ! The colors are gorgeous and the impression of birds created by the repeat really adds to this version of your garden. Best of luck in the contest !
