suitable for batik fabrics - and they are made of batiks
These batik fashion designs, which I originally drew for a Textiles class project, are styles suitable for batik fabrics — and they are made of batiks. Sort of like a reverse-applique effect. The wavy line background pattern is made from a batik stamp turned into a vector design. Several of these dresses are inspired by vintage patterns from the mid-twentieth century. Others are more recent styles (inspired by the past), especially suitable for combining batik fabric patterns, including a couple of "Duros". The wavy line pattern is available separately in a couple of colors. Once I have access to a more modern Adobe this fall, I should be able to make a larger version of this, with one repeat per linen-cotton fat quarter. That would make the dresses about 5-6 inches high instead of 3 inches, and the batik fabric patterns and line texture would be more visible.
