India). They have an organic asymmetric hand-made look.
These designs are derived from vintage carved wooden fabric stamps from Japan, (probably carved in India). The stamps have white fabric ink on them. Because they are derived from hand-carved stamps, they have an organic, asymmetric, hand-made look. Other colors in this collection include a dark bluegreen textured background, and an indigo texture with white, creating a classic blue and white Japanese fabric. Try them on the linen-cotton fabric for a yukata or an oriental-style jacket, or for curtains or cushions. There are several different layouts. These dark background versions with white designs also have a batik effect. Reverse colors are available. This version has a close, overlapping array of the white trees. White on textured blue-green. This sideways, smaller version is especially for linen teatowels and cafe curtains. See also the larger, upright version of this design.
