Wonderful design. I love the fact that the original was glued to laundry detergent box cardboard. It's amazing how some of the oddest materials will occasionally surprise us and last so well. So glad that this one did!
So cute! Congratulations on placing.
Thank you everyone for the nice comments! I was surprised and delighted that Felt Houses made it to the top ten in the Windows and Doors contest. What fun!
Pattysloniger, the original design is glued onto a piece of laundry detergent box, the only cardboard I had back then. I'm amazed that the piece lasted all these years with little deterioration or fading.
Your little houses have so much character, congratulations on making top ten!
This design does look very good printed! Good luck in the contest.
Close up of Julie 1971 fabric. I do not have a good photo of Felt Houses close up. However, Felt Houses is almost identical to Julie 1971 so you can see how the detail shows in this photo.

This fabric is identical to Julie 1971 but has the original thread signature and date digitally removed. The photos of Julie 1971 fabric were taken with a better camera so I will use those photos here since the fabric is almost the same. The only difference between the two fabrics is this Felt House fabric has no "julie 1971" in the design.

i agree, this is wonderful and lovely, how great for a contest to come along so you can enter it! it does make for a great fabric and should hopefully do very well!!
Love this. I'm also interested to see how it prints.
Wonderful : love these little felt houses :)
This is so amazing and lovely. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that you made the original felt drawing when you were 12. Good luck this week!
Thank you for the kind remarks, everyone! kkitwana, the original felt picture was made many years ago. The hardest part of preparing the picture for fabric was getting the background fibers to line up for a good repeat. I'm pleased with how it turned out. Thank you for the comment!
This is a lot of work!! My, how I love it!! I am always drawn to uniques processes for creating fabrics. Thanks for submitting this and inspiring me.
I'd love to see how this looks printed. Very sweet!
hurrah! so glad you entered this in the contest. it's lovely and retro and fun - and makes such great fabric!
Looking forward to making aprons with the Felt House fabric that arrived today. :)

Felt houses on a burlap background. Made from a scan of original art I created when I was 12 years old in 1971. This design is the same as Julie 1971 but with the thread signature and date removed.
