Yes,yes, yes! We want a real zoom view and we want it now. Actually it is a win-win situation, so please Spoonflower, solve the problem please. I will write to the king of Spoonflower and ask for it.

Write to spoonflower and tell them you want a real zoom view. I did and if enough designers ask for it we might get it someday. I absolutely hate the way thin lines look pixelated when they aren't. How can you sell fabric to anyone when the view is so bad. You won't get what you don't ask for. They seem to want to run a good business so ask for a real zoom view.
I so feel for you re the compression software! Unfortunately I don't think there is any way of avoiding the problem (although Sef I think is working on it - check out this dialogue http://www.flickr.com/groups/spoonflower/discuss/72157634589448645/). Sometimes what I do is take a swatch size cut (ie, as it would look as 8" x 8") and attach it as a 'detail' so people can get a clearer view (see http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/1896605 for an example) - not ideal but something!
Thanx a lot amy_g! :-D
Thanx su_g for nice comments! I feel a bit "lowtech" when my designs looks like I have no focus at all regarding the compression software at Spoonflowers. What kind of resolution is maximum for avoiding this problem? When I am uploading at 150 dpi I sometimes find my designs being too big for making nothing else then cushions or curtains. If I want really smallsize all over patterns, it is nearly impossible to make a good view, so the buyers gets a realistic impression of what they really are buying. I will write what you told me, and take som photos of the swatches. A customer bought an all over print 5 yards of flies , and the customer was worried about the dots became big red sqaures in the view. Nothing was wrong, it printed very good.Have a nice day!:-)
Their striped bodies against the wallpaper-y stripes made me smile! Lovely colors too! (Unfortunately the compression software is a real negative for the yardage view - maybe think about adding a note on that - that it's an artefact and not really how it will print...)
