The ants are searching the whole picnic cloth in a methodical manner.
The ants are searching the whole picnic cloth in a methodical manner and have effectively become a part of the fabric of a picnic. The cloth itself is woven from individual threads like a tartan rather than being solid blocks of printed plaid (as should be visible in fabric swatch and small decal views). Currently displaying black garden ants, Lasius niger, on a red cloth. Other colours, stylings, sizes and orientations are available on request and you can even ask for a combination of several designs together.

Very clever design using the ants for lines.

Great design. One of the things I love about your work in general is the sense of illusion and the skill you have creating a design which pulls the eye, pulls the focus into the design and back out again. I see the tartan, i see the ants, i see tartan, i see ants. I like this colourway the most too, and agree with others' comments... I can see it being used for some interesting things. Maybe chair pads for an outdoor setting? BBQ apron for fathers' day? lol

Oops, my computer just glitched and then a comment had disappeared when the page came back. So it's possible I accidentally deleted it somehow. Sorry to the person whose comment that was if they didn't delete it themselves.
I'm slightly boggled at the idea that it might be used for something. The creepiness must limit its appeal somewhat. If not an actual table or picnic cloth then perhaps men's pants / boxer shorts.
Clever idea and funny. Your design is very appropriate and useful. Love it!
Clever, fun, and well executed! These ants are welcome!
You got the point of this one exactly! The ants are part of the tartan-esque pattern.
I love how perfectly organized your ant troops are, like another set of stripes on the cloth!
I missed this earlier. Follow so many designers that a lot of stuff rolls off screen before I see it. Your ants marching in regular lines in relentless pursuit of food make for a pretty and useful design.
I had some wasps planned too but suddenly this morning saw that Spellstone had done much the same thing in the same colour scheme! :-o
<br/>I may still finish my version tomorrow anyway. Looking through the contest tag after entering suggests that many people have inevitably had the same ideas.
so clever and cute! Fun witty fabric. Made me smile
