My Grandmother used to take me hiking into the deep woods of her 580 acre wooded property with a small farm. There is a real line that divides the deep woods from the woods. The whole atmosphere changes, the temperature drops and the light fades. That is the place you go to experience a whole new world of flora and fauna and is where grandma would take me in search of orchids that grow indigenous to Southern Missouri and other fungi and such that won't live in the full light of day. I remember the reward of smelling the sweetest smell I'd ever smelled when we came upon this crazy yellow orchid with an awesome texture. I'm afraid time hasn't relayed the beauty I saw and smelled that day but working on this sure reminded me how I felt on a walk in the deep woods with granny.
