Welcome to my shop! I have always loved to draw~whimsical and kooky themes are favorites and Spoonflower really allows one's imagination to go wild. Novelty fabrics are my specialty. If you would prefer a different size in a design just message me.

Description:

A fun little mushroom / toadstool shaped house. I used pink for the houses as a nod to John Mellenkamp's song "Little Pink Houses".

After seeing the devastation caused by the tornadoes in Oklahoma (the loss of life, of course, being the most heart-breaking)....it got me thinking about our homes and neighborhoods. I think people tend to take these two things for granted. You just get busy with life and don't think about it much. After seeing people lose everything, it really made me appreciate my little home, neighborhood, and all my loved ones and friends in them. This is what inspired this design I guess. To everyone out there, enjoy your homes and neighborhoods...and all the precious people in them! There is a little family ~ mom, dad, little boy and little girl ~ in the lower window of the house and in the upper window, a dog and cat. The plaque over the front door says "Home Sweet Home". All the roads lead to home.

ladyrattus says: I'm running late with comments again... Wonderful design, love how the periphery houses are also showing the way home and also taking a kind of shelter from the centre point house. I especially love art that comes from the heart. Good luck this week, Amy. :)

winterblossom says: Love the movement of the houses with the swaying red Japanese roofs which depict vulnerability. And the stable couple in the centre which to me depicts the strength of a love relationship in a crisis. Love the little cars. Very thoughtful impressive design. Every newly wed couple should have this on their walls to remind them to stay strong as a couple in the crisis's of life!

whimzwh...

whimzwhirled says: I grew up in a little pink house so the John Cougar song really connected with me. Later in life I met the base player that played with him through his first 4 albums and we became best friends. He is the guy who throws me photos to use in my art that I've talked about here. Him and John Cougar are also great visual artist.
