Yup! Weird - but aren't all we Arty-crafty types?!
<P>Yes - much ,much quicker and probably cheaper but dare I say it -"Without that satisfactory feel of a job well done, by your own two hands"!

Not really painful, very enjoyable. Call me weird but I love quite monotonous repetitive crafting sometimes. Very therapeutic, lol. Would be much easier to upholster with your lovely ready-made version though! x
Ceri - glad you like the design but really sorry to invoke those painful memories!
Aw Think you Anino - I am so pleased it intrigues you so much! It's based on a traditional weave, used in England for cane backed chairs!
Great design! And its reminding me of all the blisters I've had actually doing this caning technique on a couple of antique chairs!
Lovely design, I love the intricate weave (multi -directional) of the cane. It will make a good apparel- I am sure if I see a shirt made out of this fabric, I will be trying to figure out the direction of weaves, and the person will say to me; why are you looking at me with interest? I will answer back- Oh it is the puzzling weave (design) on your shirt.
All five canes... Parterre, Basket, Granny Smith, Snow White and Bramley!
