Continuous wallpaper scenery to deceive the eye, in blue-greens and gray on white. This was my entry in Spoonflower's 'Mod Wallpaper Contest' (it bombed!)..

The descriptive phrase for this technique, "trompe l'oeil" (which means to deceive the eye) dates from the Baroque, but the technique - often seen in murals - was used from Greek and Roman times on. Typical examples use a window, door, or hallway to suggest larger spaces (more information here).

Thanks so much for your feedback Sheila, love the idea of Mod Deco!

Su this is wonderful! I love how it looks on the wall! Each of the colorways are great, but I think this one is my favorite. There is a hint of Deco to me... maybe you have created a new Style Su! Mod Deco!

Thanks so much for the really helpful feedback Isabella and Tina - I'd like to explore this idea more as (as usual) I ran out of time and had to go with what I had...
Su this is a fascinating idea-it could be really interesting making a small space appear larger. The colors are soothing and easy to live with too!
Very clever, Su. Love the symmetry of this. It works very well.
Thank you so very much Rhonda for your generous comments, much appreciated.
Su, your design is imaginative and intriguing! I love how the impression of architectural scenery enhances the feeling of light, airy space in your design!
