The cretan labyrinth (also called Solomon's Seal) in hexagonal form, with central cell and outer connecting path. It is a unicursal rather than multipath maze - so one couldn't really lose a minotaur in there. It's also often constructed without an enlarged centre, via a simple dot-joining method, or in circular form and is sometimes found on ancient coins or rocks. Marked out on the ground, it tends to be used as a ceremonial processional or even penitentiary path.
