In Greek mythology, Daedalus and his son Icarus were imprisoned in the Labyrinth on the Island of Crete. Daedalus was a master craftsman who built two sets of wings from feathers and wax. He warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun because it would melt the wax. While Daedalus successfully flew away from their prison, Icarus was so delighted by flight that he flew too close to the sun. His wings fell apart and he fell into the sea and drowned.
