There is no accounting for the taste of others. Meaning that as long as you are true to yourself, you are doing the right thing. This is so lovely and literal at the same time. The colors are truely Mediterranean, bright and uplifting The mosaic fire and water and figures are lively. This would be a beautiful ceramic tile. If I haden't just renovated my bathroom, I would want thin in there.
Thank you for saying so, MysticalArts! I have had some very disappointing contest results lately. No matter how many views and comments I get, I just don't do as well as one might think in the actual contests. I had over 500 views in the Chicken contest and about the same in the Jane Austen contest and I don't think I made the top twenty in either. The ones I make in two seconds and enter on a whim do just as well as the ones like this that I spend hours on... Oh, well. I guess the fact that they usually sell makes up for it. But I haven't been in the top ten since the Urban Sighting contest - though that was a good one as they went on display at a museum in that one. I will just keep trying!~
I was very discouraged when I saw how poorly my design fared this week, but then I saw that this design wasn't in the top 10, which I really expected it would so it makes me wonder about the integrity of the contests.

Thank, CJL! It was a lot of work, but I enjoyed learning a new process! Thank you for commenting!
This design looks amazing, it must have been so much work! I love the way you have coloured the layers too!
Thank you so much! I am so glad you think so.
Absolutely stunning. The colours are glorious. So well done!
Thank you, Rhonda! Very kind of you to say so!
This is a gorgeous, mosaic-like, design! Your colour choices are perfect for the theme, Sarah!
Thank you, VanillaBean~ I really appreciate it. I don't really have high hopes for the contest as I have discovered that the more effort I put into a design, the worse it does - but as long as other designers like it - that is good enough for me!!! :D
We are happy that you have caught the mosaic fever - this turned out beautifully! It has a lot of inner light, that is probably due to your rich color choices and the mosiac effect itself. I love it. Best of luck to you!
Thank you, Mystical Arts!
Oooh, I like this. I like the levels, heaven, earth and hades! very very cool!
Thank you SO MUCH, Amy! I really enjoyed working on this. I think I have mosaic fever now! Must mosaic all the things! I am hoping all the little details aren't lost when people go to vote...
