Description:

Nikola Tesla: the greatest inventor of the 20th century. Truly worthy of geekly admiration and nerdly aclaim. His really big dream was to broadcast...

electricity through the upper atmosphere! No power lines--no plugging stuff in! No need for internal combustion automobiles, no need for gasoline! Just switch on your car and it goes! No batteries! No need to recharge your phone! Free electricity to everyone on the planet! Really...wouldn't you like to check out that alternate reality? Oh Mr. Tesla, thanks for all of your cool ideas which we still use today: innovations in radio, transistors, AC motors, neon lights, remote control, radio astronomy, hydroelectric power. (inspiration for more fabric) Plus, Mr. Tesla, you were always such a well dressed gentleman. And you were always really kind to pigeons. (this is not clip art...it's all hand drawn in Corel)

erniekocats says: Finally! Posting a photo of my Tesla Tee! Thanks soooo much for making this print. I got mobbed wearing this yesterday, and gave all credit to you. Good thing you have a short and easily spelled Spoonflower name!

artgarage says: Excellent, erniekocats! A border print it will be! If I do a 42" double border...you could split it down the middle for a 21" skirt...does that sound about right or are you thinking a full length skirt? What scale do you like for this one? I printed this at 300dpi on cotton knit for a tee shirt...the shield is about 2" wide...the height from the bottom of the shield to the top of the lightning is about 5.5"

erniekocats says: I really love your border repeats on the Rooster; it's brilliant work, my friend. If you could do something like that with this design (ah, dull cut and pasting!), I see the summer dress of my dreams! (allover print bodice/bias strip facings, border print skirt) Or, just an allover of the pigeons in the dark blue. I am not a quilter, I wear it proudly! I should warn you: the Tesla/Oatmeal contingent is coming your way.

artgarage says: Thanks erniekocats and amy_g! I appreciate your kind words. I'd hoped to get this one in the "geek-chic" voting...but I guess it's just too out there. I will still add to the collection. erniekocats...if you have something specific in mind you'd like to do with this collection, and want to let me know...I can use that info in planning more Tesla stuff.
