This beautifully drawn design is very sweet yet funny. Love it!
Thanks for the comments, everybody!
@Victoria, I must admit we have learned many new words from doing the Boston Globe crossword puzzles. "Blat" wasn't in our dictionary, but that just means our dictionary isn't sufficiently comprehensive when it comes to colloquial terms :-)
@Fireflower, I agree - besides, much more fun to draw waves than toiling laborers.
From left to right our cats are Teddy, Salamander (aka "Mander") and Miette. We also have a "new" cat, Sid, who I really should work into some designs soon!
I love how you have melded some wonderful, and relevant, modern images into a traditional, heraldic format!
Cute use of your names. I have an old Websters dictionary that lists "blat" as a colloquial form of "bleat" (which is the sound a calf makes). The "Urban Dictionary" lists a different, modern, meaning; so you might not want to use it for it's older, colloquial, meaning.
What charming cats!
I am glad you chose the "surf" instead of the "serf" to include; it's well past time for no more "serfs"!
