Jane Austen-inspired hand drawn cameos (with flower and open book border), showing the progression of love.
Designed to depict the progression of love in Austen's work: The first pair of cameos show a young pair looking away from each other, and the second pair is the couple discovering their love.
The quote behind them is "I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun" - Jane Austen, Pride & Prejudice

Thanks for the review- I think the scale of the pattern makes it rather confusing (the first pair is the ones who are looking at 'themselves', no bonnet or hat, and the second pair are the ones with the hat & bonnet). I don't generally draw people, and I enjoyed trying it out!

A really nice idea! But I have to admit I got a bit lost in it: which pair is the first pair? Maybe a detail attached and labelled could have helped? Was it the man without that hat in the first pair - he is noticeably leaning away from something - but in the way we see it in the FQ he's looking at and leaning away from himself. I really think the idea has legs, is potentially very elegant and worth further development...
