Learning digital design is something totally new for me. Having once been a home dec consultant & custom clothes and pattern maker, I love fabric. Now, my fabric and sewing pursuits revolve around my wee children.

This is a basic Caithness District tartan in clean, straight lines. It is a very hard to find plaid, and if you want an actual weave of it it must be special ordered and is very expensive. This way, you can have your Caithness in a small print to make all sorts of fun things from!

Caithness District Tartan/Plaid - version 1 of 4 :
Our primary plaid is Walker but Walker shortbread has patented it so it is super expensive. There is a muted version though. I think the Caithness plaid is one of the prettiest I have ever seen.

How nice! Thank you; actually we simply have Scottish ancestry, but have been in the US for a few generations. This would be our plaid if we were to use it. I tried to get anything I could in it, but even my friend in Scotland couldn't scout out anything for me, so I turned to Spoonflower *lol* One of these days I intend to make a higher resolution, larger version :)
My sister-in-law is a Caithness from Scotland. This is a beautiful family plaid. Are you from Scotland?
