I am an Art Teacher in the Illawarra region of NSW. I like to create Lino Block prints and fabric designs. I adore colour, especially Indigo.

Elisabeth Bennett would have spent her evenings by the fire, working on a pattern such as this and listening to her sisters gossip.
This would be a good design for a table centre, especially using the fat quarter sizing in basic combed cotton. There are exactly 4 to a yard. I have deliberately left a slight gap to allow for cutting each section out. I intend to also create a smaller version with no gaps.

I could well imagine any young lady of the Regency era spending time working on a piece of embroidery such as this, Jenny! Your design lends itself to being further embellished with embroidery and quilting details before being made into table centres or cushions.
