This is another of my Cuisinart retro designs.
On the first level it is a patchwork with four diagonally oriented squares, one of which is green flowers over a dotted green background. Another is slightly bluer green flowers over a pseudo batik background. These two flower squares are linked by a corner where four buds meet tip to tip. And they are linked by a diamond inside a circle.
Then we get to the style all of this is drawn in, we turn on the Cuisinart switch.
Several twisting ribbons, stems, and vines take their lineage from art nouveau. But over all, this isn't a nouveau design.
The flower style and the boldness of that seems to harken back to 1930's flour and feed sack patterns.
Other elements in it have a World War One era feeling.
It's retro something, but a very mixed up something, which might even make these bold coloring book style lines and saturated colors, a style of their own.
