When I saw the contest for painted eggs, I immediately thought of pysanky. But rather than just depicting the eggs - where you can't see all the sides at once - I wondered what would happen if you 'unwrapped' the pattern from the egg and put it on fabric. It was a interesting and fun challenge to take designs suited for a curved surface - with their 3D curves - and try to map them out on a flat surface without losing the curves!
