This is my entry in the gardening tools Spoonflower fabric contest. White background also available soon. My daughter is the gardener of the family and my grand daughter loves to help. Now 6 years old and having helped mom from 2 years old she has gotten really good at planting, weeding, watering and especially harvesting. It is something she takes great pride in. Gardening has opened her up to eating more vegetables and has taught her better eating habits as well. This year she will be helping to put in a new and improved root vegetable garden where an old decorative pond use to be. I am excited to get the overflow of organic carrots, radishes, turnips and beets. Root salad here I come. Yum!

Catherine, have you tried turnips and beets raw, cut small and added to salads? I can't stand them either cooked or pickled but raw they are great and they are both superfoods that are so full of vital nutrients. I get the organic ones at the regular grocery here. You really can't taste them much raw, except for a bit of sweetness from the beets. I didn't eat them most of my life because i hated the ones my granny and mom cooked. Then I read the crazy vitamins and stuff they contain and gave them a second try, only raw. I eat them all the time now.

Great idea. Good luck :)
Love this one, whimzwhirled! We've started sharing an allotment with friends this year so I'm with you on the anticipation of the veg! Though not the turnips and the beets - more the courgettes & the butternuts, the broccoli and the peas.
Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment Eloisa. I really appreciate your time.
Awesome!! Good luck in the contest! I love how yes, it can be used for many interpretations! :)
Thanks Shirley. One of the things I like about the design is it is open to interpretation. It can be about gardening or any other pursuits. It could represent a hand up, generosity and or Charitable events. I kind of get a kick out of the fact that these are my hand prints, scanned and digitally color changed. Always good to see you have stopped by.
Love this in every way - the grand daughter story - the colors -YES!
