time and distance.
Having had long distance romances, letter writing is a tender and committed act. The background of the fabric is comprised of antique postcards all written prior to 1950, some dating as far back as the late 1800s---from all over the world. I tried to source postcards from war periods, as the poignancy of letters are at a fever pitch during such times. The design includes my favorite Ruim poems: "The minute I heard my first love story/I started looking for you/not knowing how blind that was./Lovers do not finally meet somewhere/They are in each other all along."
