@victorialasher At the time of the contest, I did send notes to the other designers to let them know the designs were OK with me ;-) just in case others contacted them concerend about their use of PD designs. And while they used the basic designs I released to the PD, they were not simply copies of the designs (which is legal, but might not pass the Spoonflower contest smell-test), but reworkings/modified visions of the designs. In my opinion, the best use of Public Domain work is as "a starting point" -- a jumping off point to gets one's creative juices going -- and I'd like to believe that's what they did. ;-) just my opinion and YMMV (your mileage may vary). And I thank you for you thoughtful and concerned comment.

That's interesting to know. I did notice that there were other designs using these dinosaurs. I'm glad to know they are your own work. Personally I don't think anyone else should have used them in the contest though. The rules say, "Please do not submit a design created by someone else". They used to say, "based on someone else's work".
@katiame thanks! ....
just in case anyone is interested there are a couple/3 designs in the Dinosaurs contest (http://www.spoonflower.com/contests/210) that use my dinos. I created them specifically to release them to the Public Domain (http://openclipart.org/user-detail/StudioFibonacci). So it is legal and totally OK with me to use them ;-)
I didn't dinosaurs could be cuddly. They look like they are playing hide and seek. Tag, you're it!
