Though I've never been to Mardi Gras, I've been to 'Nawlins twice. It's one of the most interesting and unique places I've ever experienced. It also had the best shrimp po'boy I've ever tasted, and was the location of the coolest accidental photo I ever took (during a summer downpour, taken with film and an old Leica 35mm camera!)
Inspired by my trips, this design is stuffed full of assorted influences: chalkboards at outdoor cafes in the French Quarter advertising the day's specials, vintage cocktail stirrers, old Mardi Gras signs and posters, damask fabrics, moon and stars (for the Crescent City), crowns, horns, masks, feathers, manhole covers, rust, wrought iron balconies, ribbons, flowers, vines, peeling paint, confetti, beads, fleur de lis, and harlequin patterns. It has a lovely weathered texture inspired by the fantastic old buildings in the French Quarter.
