A tessellation of comic-book-style superheroes in symmetry group p31m. Currently displaying a version in 4 colour sets - red, yellow, green and blue - which destroys the underlying triad and mirror symmetry (as does the minimum 3-fold colouring). Other colours, sizes, orientations and even stylings of the individual muscled-miniature-minders are available on request. Eg the uploaded file can produce figures of about 10" high down to ones of about an inch. You can even ask for a combination of several designs together.

Cute! They remind me of the game 'barrel of monkeys'. :^)

In contrast, I'm in the subset of people who do maths for fun. :-D

We have a smart guy among us! This is a great fabric design and would have done well in the contest. It would have made my head hurt to try this and I never would have gotten it I'm sure. As soon as I left college I permanently shut down my math button never to revisit that nightmare again. lol Beautiful job Sef!
It uses one of the 17 symmetries which does actually require mathematical competence - making it fairly complicated in that way. It's the design which should have been my entry in last year's heroes contest except that I wasn't happy with the bad commerical software rendering of bezier curves (I had to patch up the eledonk tesselations a lot at the pixel level!). So I wrote my own renderer over the holidays. Which meant this one then came out perfect first time - if too late for the contest.
What an amazing tessellation! Very complicated or at least it looks that way!
