Thanks so much Julie!!
Love these cheeky magpies. We usually get swooped by magpies three months of the year on the way to and from school. It is always handy to carry an umbrella. Your magpies do look very friendly!
Thank you for your lovely comments Rhonda :-)
Your design is a marvelous multi-directional pattern of magpies. They certainly do look more friendly when they are foraging for food at ground level! When I was a child, there was a large tree in our front yard that was a favourite nesting site for magpies. We quickly learned to take precautions during nesting season. They would always see bicycle riders as potential threats and dive-bomb with great ferocity. Despite those experiences, the sound of the magpies' warbling song is a pleasure to hear.
Thank you Su!!
This turned out really nicely and I think it makes a very elegant design. I can definitely see it being used as fabric.
Thank you so much for your comments Meredithjean and upcyclepatch :-)
I spent a year in Australia when I was 11yrs old and I remember being dive bombed by magpies too! I think that is why I subconciously made all of these ones standing on the ground rather than in the air - a bit safer :-)
I like this but it scares me - been attacked by magpies while on my bike several times.
Love your colour choice for the background and these curious cheeky maggies.
