30 years I've worked as a fine artist, scenic artist and prop master and have enjoyed working for many major theme parks and movie studios. Now retired, I've always wanted to work with my own cloth designs. Now I will

So, I'm over here making different designs for fabric and I decided to take one of my mosaic balls and put it on a stripe fabric I made a long time ago. So I load it up on Spoonflower and the darn thing started shimmying back and forth. I don't think the kinetics will transfer on to printed cloth and it will be a few weeks before I test it but I wanted to show you all this happy accident. Wouldn't it be awesome if the movement did transfer to fabric? You could have a moving shirt or pillows that look alive. lol I posted the image to facebook and my friends are loving it.

whimzwhirled says: If the wall paper works I'm going to contact some fun houses and haunted houses to see if I can sell it. I can't stand to look at it though now. My tummy kind of hurts and it isn't helping. lol If the fabric works I will be floored. The idea of having your clothing moving is just cracking me up.

anniedeb says: Wow, Janiece. This design is exciting. Reminds me of an Escher? Or maybe a set in that Mel Brooks' movie, "High Anxiety," where he spoofs Hitchcock films? This is so cool. Also, the balls remind me of the balls that were used in IBM Selectric typewriters. Very nice, Janiece. I'm anxious to see how it prints.

whimzwhirled says: I'm selling it as both. I may even test the wall paper. I think the movement will transfer to wallpaper but not to fabric. We will see in about a week on the fabric. It sure is a strange feeling when your art starts to move on you. lol

su_g says: Could almost be terrifying... having to duck and weave because a fabric motif is about to hit you in the forehead... this reminds me of those moments at the start of the 3-D film when they're tuning up the 3-D (usually the best effects in the entire film) and I think it will be a very effective fabric... would be awesome as wallpaper tho'.
