Muted and conservative shades of slate blue and dusty lavender combine with a delicately detailed block pattern to evoke a feeling of Mad Men era conservative fifties neckties (though the default scale I set is larger than one of those) with cross patterns that look something like jewelry setting close ups or a medieval coat of arms.
This isn't really a stripe or a check or a plaid but it is sort of all of those too. Alternating wide and narrow stripes run horizontally and are bisected by a chain link fence style array of diagonal check lines or diamonds. All the horizontal lines are in the forefront of this design. But the diagonal lines weave under and over, half brother of a Celtic knot style.
I consider this design sort of a sleeper. In most screen views it doesn't look like much at all. But there is more to it in person.
