whenever they featured a test garment using one,
many readers asked where they could find the fabric. Most of us are used to seeing fabric printed with the repeating pattern running continually “up the bolt/roll” but some fabrics are designed so that the print runs parallel to the selvedge edge, these are referred to as “border prints” or “railroaded prints”. This single border print is ideal for people who make garments, often using the border detail along the hem of a dress or top but when used around the hem of loose billowy sleeves that detail alone can make a garment look very high end. Try laying out your pattern pieces in different ways to see how the border can be highlighted, making your garment enviably one of a kind. It’s important to note this is designed for 42inch wide fabrics, wider fabrics will have the border repeat, wholly or partially, on the opposite selvedge edge. Craftsmen, seamstresses and other artists, remember to credit me as the designer for the lovely handmade items you sell using this fabric or wallpaper. Nothing reflects real life like an actual sample so ordering a swatch before purchasing a large quantity is suggested.
