Penny thanks for jumping in on this! This is a photo I found when I was first exploring textural possibilities for fabric however I would have to get copyright to sell it (because I don't do aerial photos....ha!), but I'm not interested in doing that. I only posted it for inspiration.

The textures are really beautiful, Cal, and yes, you are right, aerial photos would make great patterns for quilters to follow. Quilters would just have to follow the rows. Smart girl!!
Thanks Deb. Wouldn't aerial photos make great patterns for quilters to follow? I was completely captivated by a PBS series on landscape quilting and thought about the aerial viewpoint as a slightly different approach to that genre.
There's a wonderful quilted effect to this design in the swatch view. Beautiful greens.
The depth differences are fascinating. Aerial photos are so beautiful, and it's just as lovely in mirrored repeat. What lush farm fields!
