Thank you for the wonderful comments, C. Wren and Karen! I actually enjoyed working with the hues in this limited palette whereas at other times I have not found the contest colours to my taste at all!:-)

This is absolutely beautiful, Rhonda.
Rhonda, I am impressed that this came from the Matisse contest limitations -- I had such a struggle with those colors, and here you made them look effortlessly harmonious.
Thank you kindly for your lovely comment, Magenta Rose!:-)

Beautiful Rhonda! the lattice background softens it perfectly.
Lovely design Rhonda! I love your illustrations of the flowers and leaves!

Thank you very much, Su, Ghennah and Angela! I really appreciate your thoughtful comments and support! :-)
Quite lovely Rhonda!
I love that you stayed true to your style and that you made such a light & airy design using the color palette. It fits so nicely with your collection as well as in a Matisse painting.
Ah yes! Casurina seed pods of course! I have gilded some of these as Christmas decorations for a miniature tree. The best thing about them is that the red- and yellow-tailed black cockatoos like to eat them! It is a totally gorgeous design.
Su, my husband assures me that he instantly recognised the Casurina seed pods in my design. They must have been lurking in my subconscious as I was not actually consciously thinking of them when I drew the pictures! However, Casurinas do grow in abundance in our area and I often see these fascinating seed pods dangling from the trees or in scattered heaps, blown across the yard by a stiff breeze!
Thank you so much for the awesome comments, Su, Pamela, Kathy and Amy! Your positive response means a lot to me and I will treasure your compliments!
Very nice, Rhonda!
You have created a very lovely design. It has a very nice airiness about it.
Such a fresh and lively design! Your use of the palette and execution are pure genius.
Oh this is sooo pretty! I totally agree with Kez - you've made the palette work in such a light and airy way - that makes this design really stand out too. Also, I love it that some of your fantasy flowers remind me of banksia seedheads (as in May Gibbs' big bad banksia men - without the 'bad') - a plant that really does deserve some designs!
Thank you so much, Kez! I appreciate your sweet comment ! :-)
Rhonda, this is a beautiful design! You made the palette work in a really light and airy way! Very pretty.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments, Sarita, Kerryn and Lori! :-)
Rhonda, this is stunning! So light, airy and completely wonderful!! Good luck in the contest :)
Very pretty Rhonda, good luck with the contest!
Rhonda I love your design - fabulous!
Thank you Barbara, for your thoughtful and generous comment ! I agree, there was enormous scope with this wonderful palette to create a wide range of colour and tonal variations. I am really enjoying the imaginative work of other designers as I browse through the splendid gallery of designs in this contest! :-)
Lovely work! Isn't it amazing how the same colors can give the impression of a whole different palette, depending on how they're used, in what proportions?
Thank you so much, Joan and Anino! It is such a joy to read your lovely comments!
Lovely lattice on the background of this floral garden design.
Isabella described the airy effect of the design and I was thinking the exact thing before I read her
description. The colors were somewhat heavy and you've done a great job of giving them a light
Thank you very much for your positive, supportive comments, Candy and Darja!
This is a fantastic design!! Beautiful drawing....
Perfect design, the way you have used the colour palette really made this stand out from the crowd!
Thank you very much, Melanie and Katerina! Your sweet, supportive words mean a lot to me!
Such a beautiful design, and totally in love with the name-so appropriate:)
Good luck in the contest, xx
Very sweet design, love the movement of the leaves, beautifully illustrated!
Thank you very much, Ottomanbrim! I value your opinion and kind words!
This is such a beautiful illustration! All the details are perfect!
Thank you so much for your kind and generous comments, Sue Ellen, Vo and Cally! :-)
Great use of the colour palette Rhonda and especially gorgeous seed pods! Thanks for always having a kind word for everyone :)
Rhonda, this is so pretty!
BTW, I love the little Baby Tears in betweeen the large elements. Their soft, rounded shape, and tiny size are a lovely counterpoint.
I like the way this captures the Fin de Siècle feeling while, at the same time, being right up to date. I also like the creative use of the dark coral enlivening the underside of the leaves, surely an idea the Fauves would appreciate! The detail is amazing and I like the way the grid of Xs also lightens the design. Good luck in the contest!
Thank you very much, Michelle! Reading your positive praise has certainly lifted my spirits!:-)
Excellent use of the colours, this is bright and fresh and I love the textured background :)
Thank you very much for the marvelous comments, Victoria and Susan! :-)
Your design is amazing! I too love how you used the colours, its so fresh! The background texture works so perfectly with your design!!
I LOVE how you use the color palette, Rhonda, gorgeous!!
Thank you for the positive feedback, Carole! I'm so glad that you noticed the various textures of the plants. I was particularly pleased with the crunchy "feel" of the seed pods. Maybe nearly crippling myself by stepping on them in the garden has given me an extra appreciation of their spiky nature!
Thank you, Kris! I really appreciate your sweet words! :-)
Ooh, i can really feel the texture of the edges of the leaves, twigs, and the flowers.
Wonderful and light - great use of the limited colour palette :)
Thank you so much for the lovely comments, Alex, Karin, Claire and Holly!
Beautiful design Rhonda! Love your detail and the airy feel.
Gorgeous Rhonda, really gorgeous!
this is really nice Rhonda! I love how you get the darker green with the blue and yellow!
Wonderful light touch with the set colours!...and the yard view is great x
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments, Isabella, Kelly and Kisse!
Beautiful and lovely flower design! I love your background with the tiny repeating x.
Very beautifully done!
Oh, well named! This fabulous, hand-drawn, floral is a fantastic example of the type of textile that might have featured in a Matisse painting, Rhonda. I love how you have created such a delightfully light and airy design with these colours. This would be equally wonderful on a pretty dress or as delicate, floaty curtains. Well done!
