I still really like this - I love that window - and I think it makes excellent fabric! I can see it being used for so many things - from window curtains (!!) to dresses...

In this marvelous design, the light seems to be blazing through the windows to illuminate a scene filled with a zesty vitality! The gleam on the edge of the blue bowl particularly caught my eye!
Thanks Vo and Isabella! It is really hard to make yourself make crookedy windows! Ha!
I do like those windows. Nicely done!
This is fab!
Thank you Su! I liked the blocking of the window and placemat in contrast to the curve of the fruit platter and lemons. I wanted the curving plants to unite the two diverse forms. Not sure if Matisse was thinking that way when he composed paintings but it seemed to stretch my mind a little anyway!
Totally agree with all the comments, this is great. What I really like is your incorporating the window - his still life interiors that include a view out the window are some of his most attractive works and you've captured that with this design, as well as his emphasis on LINE. This is a beautiful work.
Thank you Lori and Julie! That makes me smile.
Beautiful design, I love your choice of background colour from the palette and the foliage and lemons are lovely!
Very cool interpretation of Matisse :) Love those lemons and foliage... it's all GOOD!
Thank you Amy!
Oh, this looks great! Love the cool window effect.....so cool!!!
Thanks ya'll! I wasn't sure that that wonky window motif would achieve the "window" effect. I really liked being able to add the white highlights to the lemons and the platter, to give that illusion of light. When I see the Matisse images, I see wonky forms as windows, walls, carpets, tables. So I wanted to try to find a way to incorporate that somehow.
I appreciate the encouragement!
Lovely work! Such elegant, clean lines and shapes - and I just saw the rest of your stuff, too. I'm not one for idle compliments, but your art gives me such a peaceful, happy feeling. That type of beauty really does affect the world. Thank you for sharing yours.
