Small boys are heroes in so many everyday ways...
Small boys are awesome. Small boys can be brave. Small boys can be clever and dynamite too. Small boys can be extraordinary, friendly and great. Small boys are heroes, I think. Small boys are so interesting. Sometimes they're jubilant, sometimes they're kingly. Sometimes they're legendary, magical, and nimble. My small boy is totally outrageous. Some boys are practical, quick, radiant and strong. Boys are terrific. Some are unbeatable, and then they're victorious. Some boys are wise. Boys are just eXcellent. (Yowza!) Some boys are zippy but all boys can be heroes, however they do it.
I was brainstorming the words I would use for each letter of this design over dinner with my family when my eight-year old son announced that P was for protagonist. After we'd all picked our jaws up off the ground we debated protagonist for a while - after all, it's a perfectly heroic descriptor. But, in the end, we decided to go for practical - couldn't resist the hammer and saw.

Super idea. Your illustrations are wonderful. Love this!

Thanks Victoria! We had fun thinking of all those words... although my small son still thinks I should have gone with protagonist, apparently. Might have to do him a special edition...
Very cute and a nice alphabet design.
Thank you Kelly & Tina! Procrastinators, haha, there are plenty of them in this household too...!
Great idea! I love the flat color and the textured stars!
GREAT idea and cute illustrations! haha, 'P for procrastinator' describes most of my family, but it doesn't seem heroic... 'practical' seems much better!
Thank you Tara, Julia, Victoria, Shelley and Sannie! I've been Sf AWOL for a couple of days - how lovely to return to your nice comments :)
So creative and adorable. Love it!
Lovely design Robyn...my favourite are the two holding hands! :)

This design is so fabulous and fun! I love all the colors in this and the kids doing what kids do best! It has so much energy and I love it!
Thank you Julie! I had fun with the three heroes in my house dreaming up all the words over dinner!
This is adorable Robyn, I love their expressions and so clever of you to think of all those descriptive works. I love the stars in the background too, such a great design!
Thanks Sharon! :)
Thank you Alex, Sue Ellen, Vo, Rhonda, Angela and Lori! You've made my morning with your lovely comments! So glad you found boys you 'know' in there, Sue Ellen; and Rhonda - that is exactly what I was thinking when I designed this... down with the bad rap on boys! Boys rock!
Boo, it looks great! Love the renderings of the kids and how you worked the alphabet into your super fun design. The stars are a really nice touch too! Good luck in the contest ;)
So clever- the illustrations are wonderful!
These alphabetically listed boys certainly cover a lot of young masculine talent territory, Robyn! I love how you have represented so many positive characteristics and boosted the positive image of boys so well! Hopefully, any boy lucky enough to have something special made from this fabric will be inspired to aspire to such high standards!
My son is a hero to me too! Nicely done, fun take on the theme!
T is for terrific design, Robyn! I love the stars scattered throughout, behind the totally charming boys. I see my two sons, and three grandsons, romping all over this marvelous design, even in the costumes. Good luck in the contest!
Fab colours! Good luck x
Thanks Diane! It was a lot of work but it was mostly fun... although about 3/4 of the way through I re-read the brief and discovered I'd missed that all important first line about 6-12 year olds... but it was too late to turn back... so this is for the younger end of that age bracket ;-P
Wow Robyn! Look at all the work you've put into this! Wonderful concept, description, and illustrations!
