Rain Prayer in linen cotton.
Thanks Su. I'll have to look into the weaving styles you refer to so I can understand what you mean. I've noticed that several of the designs I've had printed in the linen cotton have an almost iridescent quality in the weave and can only assume it's due to the tight detail of the design and how it prints on that fabric. I love that effect. I think that tight small detail may also be why some designs 'disappear' or get lost at the yard view (and sometimes in the fat quarter view) on Spoonflower's viewer. I really need to post pictures of the actual fabric when that happens to show how it actually looks.
This is an amazing look with the range of multiple colors offset by the gray and cream - it reminds me of a kind of weaving that results in almost iridescent fabric (I thinking shot shantung, and some of the Balinese weaving does the same in cotton). I so like the cloud motifs (admiring them in swatch view right now) and I was astonished at how they vanished at the yardage view!
Amen! Doing a rain dance....
Lovely design. We need rain prayers in New Mexico!
I say my rain prayers regularly these days :^ )
So pretty. I like the design name too.
