Collection: Children's designs
I love creating in any form: playing music, building a chicken coop, knitting, quilting, drawing, gardening...
I am also mother to Pieter (my co-designer), Marie and Lucas and wife to Willem. I work as a family doctor in a free clinic.

This design is loosely inspired on children's artwork in a woodworking book.
I designed this fabric to participate in the 'Creepy Crawlies' contest at Spoonflower. While I love the character in the individual creatures, I'm not entirely sure about the way they fit into the pattern. Any suggestions are welcome. Maybe the background should be more structured, to pull things together, like in the fabric 'Pieter's Space', designed by my son?
PS the woodworking book is called 'Das Ravensburger Werkbuch Holz' by Ute and Tilman Michalski, and it's very good, my finger are itching to start a dozen projects!

This fabric is SO fun, Saartje, and I love the child's "art supplies bag" that you made from it! Nicely done! Keep designing!
Outside of a carrier for color markers and coloring book, made from this fabric, and a bright green polka dot fabric I still had lying around. More info at http://meynensoutenboom.blogspot.be/2013/04/creepy-crawlies-project.html.

@ottomanbrim: Thank you very much! I like them, too. I'm trying to figure out what to make with the fat quarter I ordered... any ideas?
It's the first time I've printed fabric and it's really nice to see a design come to life. The red background looks very bright and bland on the screen, but when it's printed on fabric that just gives so much more structure... I don't feel I need to tweak any more!
