I like to think of cross-stitching as the original raster graphic; the art of representing a picture by a series of dots happened long before the 1980s.

But it was that decade and the early computers that made raster graphics popular to the masses. To celebrate the 1980s in cross-stitch, here are some original 8-bit raster graphics inspired by Galaxian, Space Invaders, Space Fever and their kin.
