This subject was harder than I thought it was going to be. Political affiliations run deep in my family. My favorite political story is.... The best Christmas present my grandmother ever got. My Dad is a staunch, straight ticket Republican and my grandmother, (his mother-in-law) is a staunch, straight ticket Democrat. Our family was traveling and my Grandmother was taking care of my Dad's pride and joy parrot named "Emit". Right before Christmas, my Dad went and retrieved him and brought him home. We were all sitting around the table just getting ready to eat our Christmas dinner.... when we heard from the other room... Emit in is loudest voice say "I'm a Democrat". That was the last time my Dad asked my grandmother to bird sit.
