The Spoonflower Handbook is here!
My maiden name is a variant spelling (via Ellis Island) of what we think might be the same family name as Waclaw Sierpinski - the mathematician who first mathematically described this fractal in 1915.
My dad is a chemist and thought about being a math professor; he introduced me to this fractal long ago when he was enchanted with making his own fractals on his first "home computer". We've always loved the Sierpinski triangle for the elegance and simplicity of both its form and its math, and I think of it as 'ours'.
The colors of this design were changed 3/2014 to match my morning blue colorway. Contact me if you'd like the original blue-violet (or any other!) colorway. Other colorways of this design can be found here.
