I don't know how to say this without coming across as pretentious. I wanted to make a quilt that's more "arts" and less "crafts," something unsentimental and contemporary with an emphasis on composition. The large abstraction is meant in part to out itself as a cheat, as one piece of fabric. The black and white "arrows" at the top right are a nod to iconography. They also bust up the pattern because of defiance and art and composition and things. Yes.
