Feminine Frankl, inspired by Paul T Frankl's man's cabinet, this one in coral, black and silver. Oil on canvas. © Su Schaefer 2012
Feminine Frankl, a design inspired by Paul T Frankl's man's cabinet, c. 1938. In coral and black, with metallic silver and half metallic coral half moons. Frankl's original had silver- and gold-plated metal half-moons, set in burnt orange and black doors. This is my idea of what a 'feminine' version might look like.

This looks super vintage--nice!
Thanks for the wonderful comments Susan, Victoria and Sue Ellen - Sue Ellen you made my mouth water with your amazing decorators' vision for this design! I do agree that it looks great as wallpaper, wish I had the right sort of place for that!

I like this, especially as wallpaper, although it would also make super drapes on a large window. It needs limed oak and chrome and glass, and a long, low dressing table with a triptych arched mirror ... clean Art Deco lines. It would be stunning on a wall at right angles to a wall of windows, so the light could come in at an angle, and pick up the metallic glints from the moons. I'm seeing gray fitted carpet, and coral satin upholstery.
Great, Su!! I love the texture in the black and grey, so tactile, so feminine!
very sophisticated feel - especially as wall paper.
