sef

sef says: You were probably off doing something more sensible at the time. I still haven't constructed the 3D version I bought. It has mostly been too cold to do anything much.

peacoqu...

peacoquettedesigns says: How did I never see this before!?! AHHHHHHHH~ Love it!

sef

sef says: I had to look up those books because I hadn't come across them myself. Spookily, the first one seems to have been written at about the same time I made my fairy-cake drawings (I can't be very precise on the date of mine). There must have been something in the air (or water) around then.

glimmer...

glimmericks says: I bought several those smashed faeries books and my sons used to giggle hilariously at them so these wouldn't have traumatized them when they were younger.

sef

sef says: I must have missed that rule. I also have a larger baking tin here with 6 fairies in it. They don't look very happy. Perhaps I should let them out again and pretend it was just a hot-tub or mud-bath.

verystarry

verystarry says: lol, oh sef... you're not supposed to pick on faeries!

sef

sef says: Ah, 11 is plenty old enough to have become warped. They make the Horrible Histories stuff for that age group.

It wasn't planned as a for-sale item. So it would have to wait to sneak into another collection in the next order I make - which could be quite a long time.

glanoramay says: She turned 11 about a week ago Sef, would make a kooky cushion too :)

weebeas...

weebeastiecreations says: Awesome awesome awesome! Will this be going up for sale?

sef

sef says: They would have existential difficulty with that. ;-)

su_g

su_g says: As Robyn (bippidiiboppidii) says: "Deeply hilarious"! Were any fairies actually harmed in the production of this design???

Posted over 4 years ago.

sef

sef says: How old is your daughter?

I suppose this design might work as a tea-towel or pan-holder or some other piece of kitchen kit / furnishing / clothing.

Posted over 4 years ago.

glanoramay

glanoramay says: My daughter loves this, suits our warped sense of humour perfectly :)

bippidi...

bippidiiboppidii says: I think even my 8 year old boy might be a bit unnerved by this... and I quite agree on the fairy tale thing Sef, dodgy indeed. So it could be said you are on just the right track... (@ fireflower - teeheehee!!!)

fireflower

fireflower says: Yes, definitely not a good decorating plan for young ones.

Posted over 4 years ago.

fireflower

fireflower says: Are there angel cakes? And a field of seed cakes ready to grow more cakes? Of course, their growth might be inhibited by the rock cakes. and then there are the pan cakes .... food for thought ....

Posted over 4 years ago.

sef

sef says: I think you might traumatise pre-schoolers if you presented them with this as their nursery decor or clothing. Fairy-tales have always been highly dodgy things.

Posted over 4 years ago.

fireflower

fireflower says: Oh, dear! Nothing like a good belly laugh first thing in the morning!!! This is a riot! A perfect ilustration of a pre-school misunderstanding of adult language ... well done!

bippidi...

bippidiiboppidii says: Deeply hilarious. Love it.

sef

sef says: I'm really only barely adequate at the drawing side of things. But I do have the "advantage" of being very strange. Plus the elite math-sci skills of course.
