This design is part of a collection I did for a set brief at Uni. The orginal inspiration was Gothic Architecture, developed into a contemporary textile design by way of using themes from Spring/Summer fashion collections and colour palettes. I went with the bird theme that is everywhere this S/S as birds were used a lot as symbolism in the stained glass windows in Gothic Cathedrals. The use of the Raven in Gothic art symbolized the devils henchmen were close at hand when protrayed next to a holy figure.
