I am a geologist from England, currently living in Bonn, Germany. My big sister Roz introduced me to the wonders of Spoonflower. Now I am planning many quilts and projects with custom fabric!

how about a skirt for one of your nieces ;-)

thanks rhonda! I am using my swatch in a quilt, but I think this would look lovely on silk too, as a dress or skirt - maybe a future project!
I love these beautiful antique coloured roses! This design would look fabulous printed on the silk/ cotton and made into a glamorous cocktail dress! It is also the kind of fabric that quilters search for in shops but seldom find!
LOL!!! had forgotten about the coconut bra! i think I'm thinking of the white dress with the yellow roses xxxx

Roz - don't remember a yellow dress (except the one Bonnie wore when she was "a corn-on-the-cob"...) but I do remember a black one with roses in all different colours. Or there was the white one with pink roses that John wore in the gang show with a coconut bra, I think.
I think it is most like the dress that Auntie Dw made for Mum when she was 8. Do you remember that? It was white with yellow roses on and a big full 1950s skirt. xx
just admiring this again Judy, reminds me of that dress from one of the great aunts we used to have in the dressing up box - remember??? r.x
A very nice rose pattern in a really different colorway and works as yardage as well as a swatch. I can see this in a slinky silk cocktail dress worn by real people (maybe not quite dramatic enough for the stage tho'...)
Thanks Julia! This design is based on a photo that I took of my first rose bush, recently added to my balcony garden! It is a Graham Thomas English tearose, my favourite of all roses, with beautiful soft golden flowers that become paler as they open up.
Lovely.glamorous and elegant as a 50s dress!
Thanks Julie and Lucinda for your lovely kind comments. I'm glad you like it!
Very nice! Would look great as a cocktail dress.
I love this! I can see this as a sophisticated cocktail dress.
thanks roz! xx
