su_g says: Hey Janiece - thanks for the suggestion of green doors too! I'm ashamed to admit that I never even thought of other colors.... it's so true what you say about "Fresh eyes can see stuff the artist missed"...

whimzwhirled says: No problem Su. It was the first thing that I thought of when I saw it. we don't really celebrate advent but we do have a advent calender with doors that open to reveal a prize. The kids love it. We aren't really Christian but take the teachings as part of a whole and we celebrate Christmas. We sort of take all the religions, put them in a bag, shake them up and adopt the parts that feel right. When it is all boiled down to the core, they are really all the same. They all have a golden rule and in the abstract all other rules and commandments can be neatly categorized under the heading of treat others as you wish to be treated. If we could master that one we would have world peace. I also love when others tell me what they see one of my fabrics working as. Fresh eyes can see stuff the artist missed in the process of creating. Like this fabric would be kind of cool with green doors as well. There's an old song about a green door that might connect with some clients who are old like me. lol

su_g says: Thanks for the advents calendar suggestion Janiece, I'll put that in my design 'to do's. My husband is Bavarian and they are very big over there, but it is not something I've explored so far.

whimzwhirled says: I like this! You know what this would be good for is an advent calendar for those who celebrate advent.

su_g says: Getting these colors right was a challenge for my camera - the gray is actually a bit more greenish, the blue is more towards a manganese blue; would be worthwhile swatching this for anyone who wants an exact color match.

su_g says: LOL Susan the stylist, re your mom not letting you out of the house! I still think you have great style ideas - and you certainly get me thinking about new ways in which to use fabrics...

susaninparis says: I was such a good stylist in high school that a few times when my mom saw me in the morning she wouldn't let me out of the house to go to school! I'm afraid I've toned it down too much since then to be much use to anyone but myself.
