100 Dreams Twirly Dress :
Heres my 100 Dreams Twirly dress for my daughter Emma, shes a very tall 6yrs...I added a zipper on the side seam because the bodice was a bit tight, I made pleats instead of gathering & added press studs on the back straps so that I can adjust the strap length as she gets taller...she LOVES the dress so much & got LOTS of compliments on it at her friends birthday party today! THANK YOU so much sew-me-a-garden for just a perfect project...

greysnana - It's a 42" wide design, so one yard of Kona Cotton or combed cotton (or any other fabric that is 42" +) will get you the whole design. It fits up to a slim size 6. If you think you might need a bigger size, I have a rainbow cheater quilt design (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/277974) that you'd just need to make your own dress top for. Happy sewing!

Do you still have this? How much would I need for a size 6?
jesmith82 - it's sized for quilting weight and I've made them with that and they are nice. The quilting cotton seems to fade more than the other fabrics, but I've always just hand washed ours in cold and air dried and ours have not faded much if at all. Back to the fabrics though, I am really loving organic cotton sateen lately. My daughter needs a bigger size in this dress so I suppose I really need to get busy and make a bigger size of this dress on the sateen!

What fabric would you recommend for this?
brillant idea and great colors!

Thanks! This looks really fun :)
rengal - I do have a full yard of just the rainbow squares if that is of interest: www.spoonflower.com/fabric/277974 ... although the chest circumference of the dress will likely get too tight before the skirt length gets too short. A skirt from the whole yard of rainbow squares would definitely be something that could grow with a girl though, especially if you used buttonhole elastic in the waist band.
I love this so much -- I think my daughters would, too! (do you think you will ever make an add-on extension so that as the girls get bigger than the sizes here it can be added on to?)
1 yard of Quilting weight (36" x 42") is a full panel. You can certainly order it printed on the other types of fabric, but you'll end up with "bonus" fabric on the side. I'm sure you could find fun projects to use the extras on though!

100 Dreams Twirly Dress fabric: how much fabric is a panel? 1 Yd? It is soooo cute and such a great idea.

Really love this concept and all the details are awesome.
Wonderful dreams, gentle waves. Snug feeling. impressive!
This is so beautiful! I wish there were an adult version; I'd wear it and I'm 22!
This is a great design! So much work went into it, so much lovely detail. Frank admiration!
This is fabulous - a really good and innovative use of spoonflower's technology and a thoroughly professional finish to the product. I would have fallen in love with this dress aged 5, and I wish I had a daughter I could make it for! I hope it wins.
This is truly beautiful! I love it!
Such a lovely idea. Cute!
