The Dodo's are fabulous. What a novel idea. And I don't think it's just for children, but rather anyone who wants a one-of-a-kind fabric or wallpaper. I think it would make a terrific Hawaiian style shirt to wear with khaki shorts.
Thank you Amy.. they're gone but not forgotten. :-)
Oh, your dodo birds are so beautiful....poor dodos, once man comes along everything goes to hell in a handbasket! On a happier note, this design is so lovely!!!
Thanks Janiece, The Dodo, a flightless bird, lived on a Mauritian island that was uninhabited by humans, dogs, cats.... then the ships arrived and they didn't stand a chance. They were hunted, for their eggs, ( of which they only laid one at a time), and for their meat, which wasn't that good really. The Dodo tree nearly became extinct too, the bird used to eat the fruit, the seed needed to go through the digestive tract before it could germinate, fortunately it was discovered that the seed would survive if eaten by a turkey, so turkeys were introduced to the island and the tree still lives.
OMG! this is awesome. I love the colors. Now I have to go google the dodo bird as I don't remember the story of how they became extinct. It's always good to know history so that we can try not to repeat our mistakes and visa versa, celebrate the stuff we did right.
Thanks Sylvie P! good of you to visit :-)
Great design, Sylvie ! Love those birds, and the way they repeat in your fabric !
