Wonderful quilt design. Printed up great.
Thanks, Karen, for the great comment. I'm so glad you like my kites enough to recommend them to a friend!

Wow, it really did print beautifully! I'm emailing this page to a friend of mine, her husband is a kite enthusiast and there's plenty of time for her to whip something up for Christmas. (it must be great to be able to tell your hubby to "go fly a kite" and get away with it!! LOL) Terrific design.
Thankyou. Yes, happy was partly what I was aiming for. Glad to know you feel I was on target.

I love how the fabric printed. Absolutely brilliant. It's going to make a beautiful quilt.
This design looks wonderful printed up. It's such a happy quilt.
Oh my! Thank you all for the amazing comments. It's lovely to have my efforts acknowledged and my ideals voiced by you.
I'm very pleased with how well this design has printed. I'm afraid my phone's poor little camera is not built to do it justice.
Wow! I' m blown away by this. As Mary Poppins would say, "Practically perfect in every way". ( Poppin lovers unite!)
Now this is exactly the kind of design I was hoping to see in this contest. The best cheater panels are self-contained, original and suitable to be made up into a crib quilt or to be used as the central focus in a larger project. I like to see cheater designs that would be a little tricky to make up from scratch but not impossible. The cheater concept is aimed at fooling the eye after all. You've achieved all of these elements and more. Well done!

I particularly like the graceful curve of the shoreline. With a few apparently simple strokes, aided by the varying sizes of the kites, you have elegantly created a sense of perspective. The kites themselves are a wonderful mix of patterns that stand out against the plainer water and sand. Too much pattern in one place becomes busy and can cause eyestrain but you've managed a perfect balance. Room for decorative quilting and personalization is desirable after all.

The fact that you've proofed this design is a huge bonus. It tells me that you have already made an effort to polish and refine it and that it wasn't another last minute thrown together set of boring boxes. Better yet, we can see that it works! It's bright, brilliant and fun. How wonderful to see a design that will engage children and stimulate their imaginations without being particularly juvenile, sickeningly cute or gender specific. I would be happy to have this on display in a public area of my home.

You have created an exceptionally appealing and usable cheater panel. Good luck!
I love the dimension and perspective; well-executed! Good luck!
Super nice! Love this & only a few other entries that don't look like your standard block quilt! Pretty colors, motive etc on this one! GOOD LUCK!
Looks like it printed up nicely, your colors look great.
Your fabric image is so pretty!
The kites could barely resist the breeze in this outdoor shot.

Yes, all sorts of sparkly ornamentation can be added to a wall hanging. Thanks for the lovely comment.
Wow, brilliant! The best and most original that I've seen. I imagine it would make a great wall hanging at fq size, for any room.
Upright for easy viewing!
Thankyou everyone for all your wonderful comments, they're very much appreciated.
This is gorgeous! I love it!
I love how you implied the ocean and beach below with just a few swooping curves, really great!
Nicely done, I want to be there!
i so love this, it's balanced perfectly, it's beautiful and so well done, one of my favourites so far, good luck!
I love this one! The ratio of prints to plains is just right and the border is brilliant. I'm sure any small child would be thrilled to have this quilt, either on their wall or to snuggle under. Best of luck in the competition.
My entry for the cheater quilt contest.
