Please note that this dress is created with only 1 yard of the cotton voile fabric (54x36") and would fit best kids sizes 4-10 yrs. But, it can also be worn as the skirt in older girls (or women) sizes, which is great:)
The rectangular part on the right should be shirred with elasticated thread and in that way you will obtain the chest part of the dress, while the part on the left with circle in the center (that should be cut off-so you get the hole)is the skirt part of the dress. There are no seams on the skirt part, so you just need to gather the top part (once stretched and finished) with the skirt part, sewing them together (right sides inside) on the circle line.
The edges are finished with the roll hem (serged), but you can use french seams or any other seam finishes you prefer.
