Shield contains many symbols of the spiritual journey encountered as I walked the 2156 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 1998 going from Maine (Me) to Georgia (Ga). Puffin became my trail name after getting caught in an unexpected Monsoon that swept across Maine that year flooding auto bridges much less foot paths!
