I share an interest in fabric design with my sister ArtbyJaneWalker . I'm a quilter and have a love of fabric. I can set up photos for pillows.

Many hexagons in flower shapes in the repeated border stripe design, plus 6 points stars and irregular pentagons formed by extending 2 adjoining sides of the hexagon. Very suitable for borders on a quilt, etc. This doesn't have to be mirrored; I just set it that way for the contest for more interest.
The decal is a smaller repeat.

I love this design.. it really is quite gorgeous! I like the zigzag movement that is happening down the stripe and the groups of flowers arrest your attention as your eyes slide down the design.. :-)

This turned out very well indeed, I agree: it would make great borders for a quilt. I can also see it as blinds or curtains for the quilt sewing room - I think it is the excellent use of hexagons that made it really stand out.
How clever! I love the organic look you obtained using strong geometric shapes. Love the flowers on vines!
Joan, thank you. We will see how it does in the contest. It really all depends on what people are looking for in a geometric design.
Thank you, Rhona and Sue for your encouraging comments. I expect to make a border print with this and one of the other designs, too. I'm just having GIMP trouble right now. I may have to get the new version.

Well done, you! I like the arrangement and overlay of the shapes ... it could easily be an applique quilt.
All of your design in this collection look great, Kathleen! This border pattern that you have chosen for your contest entry is particularly effective and will be wonderful to use for patchwork and quilting projects. Well done, indeed!
I'm having a hard time choosing for the Geometric shape contest, as I have come up with a whole collection of designs. This is one of them.
